My Dora Jarr, an unpredictable trip to an alternative architectural landscape where the viewer/participant experiences the very personal narrative of a lucid dream. Melinda Ring and Liz Young created this performance and installation from images taken from their dream journals. Pedestrian events stretch toward the surreal, familiar structures and objects become illogical, excessive and confining. Real sounds generated by activities in the space are heightened or transformed into a layered accompaniment. Within a modular set of shifting walls, the audience was free to circulate and choose their vantage point. With a cast of eighteen, some activities happened simultaneously and were interactive. This created an environment where the line between audience and performer was often blurred. A new reality was created from the minutiae of nighttime living.
